Each student in pollination biology must complete a field study deomonstrating the use of a variety techniques covered in the course. The project must include, but is not limited to, the following:
- Detailed description of the study plant and its flowers.
- Phenology of the study population, individual plants, and individual flowers
- Qualitative and/or quantitative analysis/description of pollinator attractants or rewards.
- An insect collection representing floral visitors to the study plant.
- Description of the mode of pollination.
- Determination of the plant's breeding system based on pollinator exclusion/pollen addition experiments.
