    I served as team leader for this project, and I must say that I am very proud of my group. We have turned out a product that we are very proud of, and know will make a difference for visitors to the Preserve. We all have strong conviction that through education it's possible to encourage sustainable thinking. I believe that if people learn how fascinating the natural world is, and they are able to spend time in nature, they will develop a desire to protect it. The Preserve and the Nature Center are very important to me. After I began working at the Nature Center a year ago I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in science education. I think that the Preserve is a magical place and one of the most lovely spots in Austin. Too bad not enough Austinites being their families here. Hopefully that will change with this website and trail guide! Working on the project has been challenging - learning new software, wrangling together team meetings, and fending off the poison ivy. But the end result has definitely been worth it. See you out on the Preserve!
