Working on the brochure for the Austin Wildlife Center was a great experience. I very much enjoyed it because it was rewarding on so many levels. I really feel good about the fact that I was able to pass the knowledge I've learned here at UT on to others. My portion of the brochure consisted of information that I will be recieving my degree in, geology. This being the first time I've been able to pass my learning on to others it was a hugely worthwhile experience. In the near future my goal is to teach English in South Korea, and this being my first time to teach others, I'm glad I enjoyed it. It's good to know that I made the right choice in wanting to teach English. Also, working with my team was excellent. I really like the fact that we were able to work well together and get things accomplished in such a professional manner. There was a lot of collaboration going on between the team, people helping and getting ideas from other people. It was like clockwork. The finished product is the biggest part of it for me. Knowing that anybody that goes to the Austin Wildlife Center will be using a brochure that I had a part in making, is a good feeling. I like being able to help people. Not only did I get satisfaction out of the whole affair, but I also learned a lot in the process. I learned what its like to collaborate not only within my team, but also with a whole seperate entity. The people that manage the Wildlife Center were really easy to work with and very friendly. That made things enjoyable and informative on my part. I also, learned a bit about the geology of the area. Having to do some reseach on that neck of the woods to make the brochure as good as possible, opened up my eyes to a few things that I wouldn't have learned had I not looked into it. All in all it I'm really glad I did it and everything turned out the way it did.
