Japanese Ants Color Image Database The "Japanese Ant Color Image Database" was produced through a collaboration between the Myrmecological Society of Japan and The Group for Wide Area Biological Databases and is a database relating to Japanese ant classification.  This database uses a state-of-the-art search system using highly resolved color images by a PhotoCD in order to enable precise and rapid species identification by users who are completely unfamiliar with ant species.
The Ant Course at Southwestern Research Station, Portal, Arizona THE ANT COURSE is a workshop designed primarily for systematists, ecologists, behaviorists, conservation biologists, and other biologists whose research responsibilities require a greater understanding of ant taxonomy. It emphasizes the classification and identification of more than fifty ant genera of North America. The course objectives are presented in the course announcement. Also available is the application form for the 2001 course, which will be held at the Southwestern Research Station, Portal, Arizona
Ant Biology Workshops at Brackenridge Field Laboratory Brackenridge Field Laboratory has hosted several entomology workshops directed at graduate students and research workers. A new series has been initiated which targets biology teachers.  The workshop aims to transmit information on ant diversity, classification, collecting techniques, and methods for behavioral study appropriate for high school and college teachers to employ in classes and in mentoring student research projects. Ancillary to increasing the attention paid to ants in Texas will be increased knowledge of the native and exotic ant faunas. Basic studies of fungus ants and of native ant communities by both Mueller and Gilbert will be enhanced by increasing the attention given to ant studies by teachers and their students.
Ants of Costa Rica This web resource provides species-level information on the ants of Costa Rica. The basic information unit is a species web page. The page for a particular species contains images, identification tips, geography, natural history, and recommendations on how to collect the species. Linked to these species pages are various synthetic documents, such as keys and species lists. There is a genus list, which contains all the ant genera known to occur in Costa Rica, and there is a picture guide to these genera.
