ATTENDANCE POLICY

Lecture Attendance Policy: Lecture attendance is mandatory, not optional. You will be allowed three unexcused absences. All additional absences must be excused, meaning that you must either clear it with Dr. Bierner in advance or be able to provide documentation that there was reasonable cause for the absence (e.g., illness, death in the family).

Unexcused absences in excess of the three that you are allowed may affect your FINAL GRADE in the course as follows:

Fourth unexcused absence: Loss of one letter grade (the best you can make is a B)

Fifth unexcused absence: Loss of two letter grades (the best you can make is a C)

Sixth unexcused absence: Loss of three letter grades (the best you can make is a D)

Seventh unexcused absence: Automatic grade of F
