The Paul D. Gottlieb Lecture Series
The Paul D. Gottlieb Lecture series was initiated by graduate students from the Institute for Cellular and Molecular Biology as a memorial to Dr. Paul Gottlieb, former Director of the School of Biological Sciences.  The series is supported by the Institute Director Dr. Alan Lambowitz, the School of Biological Sciences and an endowment that consists of donations from Dr. Gottlieb’s friends and family.  To honor Dr. Gottlieb, the series strives to bring to the University of Texas at Austin scientists who have shaped our fundamental understanding of the biological sciences.  In the past three years, we have been fortunate enough to host some of the most influential scientists of our time including Drs. Richard Roberts, Sydney Brenner, Phil Sharp ,Ferid Murad, and James Watson.
